Situated just in the heart of Emilia Romagna, the wonderful city of Carpi boasts an inestimable cultural and artistic heritage, as well as a considerable environmental awareness.

The WWF conservative area of “La Francesa” represents a concrete example of human intervention in defence of biodiversity. You will be plunged into the relaxing nature of Lower Po Valley and will enjoy the interesting activity of birdwatching : a golden opportunity to admire many different species!

Then, a guided visit to Fossoli concentration camp: a moving experience in a place full of historical memories, in order not to forget the shadows of our past.

After a delicious lunch in a typical restaurant, you will be taken to the city centre. There you will find, overlooking the amazing main square Piazza dei Martiri, one of the largest in the region, the ancient and splendid Pio Family’s building, known as “Castello”. The charming cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the medieval “La Sagra” are not to be missed.

Finally, some spare time for shopping. More than 200 shops placed in a lovely framework of long arcades surrounding squares and monuments, will allow you to buy some souvenirs of this warm and cosy city.
