Description
Although a relatively small city, Parma boasts some truly monumental architecture, a rich artistic heritage and a range of important cultural institutions.
Our city tour will start with the splendid Romanesque Cathedral, frescoed by Correggio, the foremost painter of the Parma School of the Italian Renaissance who was responsible for some of the most vigorous and sensuos works of the 16th century.The visit will continue with the octagonal Baptistery, Benedetto Antelami's architectural and sculptural masterpiece.The Farnese Theater, the most ancient and largest baroque theater existing inside a building, will be our last stop before lunch.
A cosy “trattoria” in the city center will offer traditional cooking and large selection of wines, where you will taste the fresh hand-made pasta and the typical cold meats and salamim the Parmesan Cheese that made Parma famous all over the world.
The afternoon will be entirely dedicated to relax and shopping in the best boutique of the city center.
