Description
Our full day guided tour will start with the beautiful Estense Gallery, with works by Guido Reni, Tintoretto, Caravaggio, Correggio, Cosmé Tura and brothers Annibale and Agostino Carracci. The most famous works are the two portraits of Francis I d'Este, a sculpture by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and a canvas by Diego Velázquez.
The visit will continue with the Cathedral of Modena, consecrated in 1184, it is considered one of the most important Romanesque buildings in Europe and a World Heritage Site with its Gothic campanile (1224–1319) called Torre della Ghirlandina from the bronze garland surrounding the weathercock. Facing Piazza Grande we will visit the town hall with its spectacular interiors.
